TRAVEL REPORT

Sept. 10 – 14, 2012

Manila

Field Trip Overview:

DAY 1

Today, I went to company visit in DOST (Science Technology Information Institute) at Bicutan to witness their finish projects and upcoming propose invention. I become excited and little bit curious of what laboratory they have because they work and have their experiments there.

I learned that all things are possible; just use my capacity of thinking to discover new things that would help my country in the future. Don’t settle for less. Means I should explore the environment that I have and create something new to resolve the issues in the earthly problems.

I liked how they present their department. How they prepare for our visit and the presentations of their institute. They also gave free reading booklets.

I didn’t like their facilities and road. They have a poor quality of comfort room and damage way which dismays a new visitor in their place.

Another company visit for this day was in MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority) at EDSA, Makati. Our professor told us that we should compare the command center of Davao with Manila. Which are more advances and the office that they have?

I noticed that they’re just almost the same with the facilities in Davao. The only differences were in Manila they have the most advance technology while in Davao semi-latest. In terms of the management that they have I’d rather choose Davao because the place and the structure of their building in Manila were too messy.

I liked the way they trained their guards and workers. Right timing I witnessed their self defense practice. It’s good and it would really help them in case of emergency.

I don’t like their parking area because it’s not organized. Drivers can’t easily pull out their vehicle in the area that they have.

DAY 2

I went to company visit at UP Diliman for Y4IT seminar. I waited for so long for my registration in the Philippine Youth Congress Information Technology which around 25,000 IT related students from different places in the Philippines were gathered to witness success of intelligent people in line with IT profession.

I discovered that before the speakers reach the peak of their success they are just like us before. The difference was they really have the passion for innovation. Bringing new things and challenged themselves foe a first – hand projects.

I loved their background stage its design, colors and effects of their area. It attracts the audience attention.

I didn’t like some speakers in presenting their topic which was boring. It should be an introduction of their works and some videos clips not the whole project to be discussed in front. I’m not satisfied with their freebies that they distributed.

DAY 3

I went to company visit in PLDT at Mandaluyong city. My bus arrived early to avoid the traffic and other matters that may hinder my arrival in the place.

I learned their history where they started and the changes they apply to cope up with the latest trends of technology. They also have the collaboration with other big companies to insure the quality of their service.

I liked the way they accommodate us as visitors; on how we should act along our tour and until we say goodbyes. It was a unique feeling that I will cherish every time I sleep.

I didn’t like their policy that avoids us to take pictures for our documentation. It’s kind of heart breaking.

Additional company visit was in SSS (Social Security System) at East Avenue., Quezon City. Their company was really big.

I discovered new information about SSS some of the policies and heard an answer to my unsolved questions about SSS issues.

I loved the way they entertain and talk to us. Even if we really have a lot of question threw to them.

I didn’t like one of their guards. He stopped us from taking pictures even its okay.

DAY 4

I went to company visit in SPI Servisoft at Parañaque city. It was a BDO an outsourcing company which offers service outside the country. It means that most of their clients were from abroad.

I learned the difference of connecting wires of a particular PC to the other. I discovered some of their information.

I loved their IT workers. They were so handsome and humble when answering our questions.

Their company also avoids us to take pictures of what they doing. But they allow us to have our batch picture.

DAY 5

Today, I went to the most glamorous company I ever encounter. In J.P. Morgan Chase at Bonifacio Global, Taguig which company everyone would dream of to be part of them.

I learned that they have really professional attitudes. They practice and give the needs of their employer.

I loved their free vendor machine that produces soda, coffee, chocolate and other drinks in cold or hot temperature. I really enjoy it. They also have a free wireless fidelity in the second floor and they offer a very low price in their cafeteria. I loved everything they have except for the fact that if I will be hired in their company I will be monitored from time to time.

TRAVEL REPORT

August 25, 2012

Quimpo Boulevard, Davao City

Field Trip Overview:

DAY 1

Today, I went to company visit in PSCC (Public Safety and Command Center) at location Quimpo Boulevard, Davao City. The place was so clean and convenient for work. PSCC have different devices like CCTV and a lot of monitors. It can easily detect those plate numbers that violate traffic, different vehicular accidents, floods, earthquakes and other unusual events.

I discovered that I belong to the one of the most bless city in the country. With the very strong leaders and they know how to manage the place like this. They have the capability to think for their constituents and give their needs.

I liked the way they maintain the cleanliness and organize their works even though they need to so many things to do. They have a good atmosphere and ambiance that will attracts human sensation.

I didn’t like their policy about taking pictures. They threat us that they will block our account in facebook or any other social media if we upload that we got in their office.
